During my usual scouring of Digg that I perform every morning I came across a couple of good blog entries worth reading if you’re an aspiring web developer like myself.
First, from DesignVitality, they present their OpenSource Web Design Toolbox: 100 Tools, Resources, and Templates which I could spend hours going through. I’m going to pay damn close attention to some of the articles with the rare WordPress Blog templates though!
Second, from Chris Campbell Waterloo’s blog, Stop Blocking IE Users – It Is Not a Solution; while many of you may read the title and scratch your heads and ask “why would anyone want to block Internet Explorer users?” Apparently as a result of some young webmasters‘ frustration with rendering differences in IE compared to Safari, Opera, or Mozilla-based browsers, a couple of websites have blocked IE users altogether in an attempt to get them to switch browsers. Chris does an excellent job explaining why blocking the vast majority of Internet users is an ineffective way to get people to switch browsers; in addition he explains the origins of rendering differences between Mozilla-based browsers and the IE ilk and some quick tips to help fight some of those rendering issues.
